A tasting of classic festive cheese and accompaniments

Time & Location
13 Dec 2023, 18:30 – 20:00 GMT
Cambridge, 1, Dutch's Corner, 213 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3BE, UK
About the Event
Meadows has become well known for cheese and we are really proud of our selection which is a collection of personal favourites all handmade by small producers across the UK and Europe.
Join Suzannah, owner of Meadows and our lead cheesemonger, for a cheese appreciation class. Â This month, we will taste a selection of classic festive cheeses and learn more about them so that you can wow friends and family with cheese knowledge at festive gatherings.
Cheese is a broad subject and it is easy to go off topic but the plan will be to explore the following:
- what makes a cheese especially good at any time and specifically at Christmas?
- cheesemaking methods and recipes behind our festive favourites
- summer versus winter milk, when was your cheese actually made
The class will include a tutored tasting of 5 cheeses served with bread and crackers. Â A welcome drink is included.
This is a seated tasting event with a communal table. Â Due to the nature of this tasting, we cannot cater for specific dietary requirements but we can provide gluten-free crackers. Â Note that we will taste cheeses made with unpasteurised milk and/or traditional animal rennet.
LIMITED SPACES - Please book a space as soon as possible.
If you would like us to host a private tasting for you at home, at work or for a social occasion please do get in touch suzannah@meadowscambridge.com
