About the Event

Meadows has become well known for cheese and we are really proud of our selection which is a collection of personal favourites all handmade by small producers across the UK and Europe.

Join Suzannah, owner of Meadows and our lead cheesemonger, for a cheese appreciation class.  This month, we will taste a selection of cheeses that are made in high pastures and try to understand what sets them apart.

Cheese is a broad subject and it is easy to go off topic but the plan will be to explore the following:

  • the styles of cheese that are made at high altitude
  • the recipe - terroir, temperature and time and how differences contribute to flavour
  • summer versus winter milk in mountain cheeses

The class will include a tutored tasting of 5 cheeses served with bread and crackers.  A welcome drink is included.

This is a seated tasting event with a communal table.  Due to the nature of this tasting, we cannot cater for specific dietary requirements but we can provide gluten-free crackers.  Note that we will taste cheeses made with unpasteurised milk and/or traditional animal rennet.

LIMITED SPACES - Please book a space as soon as possible.

If you would like us to host a private tasting for you at home, at work or for a social occasion please do get in touch suzannah@meadowscambridge.com
