But first, Cheese! : Tutored Cheese tasting
Cheese for Starters or Breakfast or Lunch and not just after Dinner . A cheese course can be an excellent starter or the main event; a meal in itself.
Time & Location
16 May 2024, 18:30 – 20:00 BST
Cambridge, 1, Dutch's Corner, 213 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3BE, UK
About the Event
Meadows has become well known for cheese and we are really proud of our selection which is a collection of personal favourites all handmade by small producers across the UK and Europe.
Join Suzannah, owner of Meadows and our lead cheesemonger, for a tutored cheese tasting. Cheese does not always need to be served at the end of a meal. A cheese course can be an excellent starter or the main event of the meal itself. We will taste a selection of cheeses that work really well for a summer aperatif or picnic.
Cheese is a broad subject and it is easy to go off topic but the plan will be to explore the following:
- is there such a thing as a cheese course and who decided it comes at the end of a meal
- cheese as a starter and the rise of grazing plates
- cheeses that work well for breakfast, as a starter or as part of a summer picnic and why?
The class will include a tutored tasting of 5 cheeses served with bread and crackers. A welcome drink is included.
This is a seated tasting event with a communal table. Due to the nature of this tasting, we cannot cater for specific dietary requirements but we can provide gluten-free crackers. Note that we will taste cheeses made with unpasteurised milk and/or traditional animal rennet.
LIMITED SPACES - Please book a space as soon as possible.
If you would like us to host a private tasting for you at home, at work or for a social occasion please do get in touch suzannah@meadowscambridge.com
