Meadows is currently donating surplus food to the Cambridge Sustainable Food & Cambridge Food Poverty Alliance community lunch scheme and emergency food hubs which are supporting local people in the Cambridge area who are worst affected by the lockdown and Covid-19.
We would like to do more and to mark our first birthday, we are asking for your help to raise money to buy extra ingredients from our local suppliers to support the scheme. We know that many people are helping others at this time both as volunteers and through donations so we really appreciate and are grateful for any extra support that you would like to contribute. Thank you!
£3 will help to provide a healthy lunch
£10 will help to provide healthy fresh food for a household
£25 will help us purchase local vegetables in bulk to be used as ingredients for many lunches
Here is some more information from Cambridge Sustainable Food:
‘Cambridge Sustainable Food is coordinating emergency food provision efforts in the city through the Cambridge Food Poverty Alliance. We are working together to ensure that vulnerable people are fed during the Covid-19 crisis. Your donation will directly support our emergency food programme, allowing us to continue cooking and delivering community lunches and running emergency food hubs around the city for those in need.’
